I am Annie. I created this page to share my experiences with other women with infertility struggling with the decision to conceive via donor eggs. I also created this site to share the joy and challenges of being a working mother.
My husband and I started trying to conceive when I was around 34 years old. Symptoms of premature ovarian failure began as we were trying. My ovarian reserve was so poor that even high dose gonadotropin stimulation couldn’t help it.
There was no hope for even IVF.
When my physician suggested donor egg, my first response was, “But it won’t be my child!” It was difficult to find recounts of experiences from others who have made this decision. Questions such as “But I wonder if I would love a donor egg child as if it’s mine” percolated my mind for a long time.
Today I am the mother of a beautiful, loving, rambunctious, and stubborn girl through donor egg conception. As I look back, I see the lessons this journey has taught me. I want to share my experiences with you.
